Manage Your Soul Well

As believers, we have a huge responsibility to guard our minds, ears, eyes, and heart gate. It is important to guard the mind because it is satan's battleground. He gains access to the mind through what you hear and what you see. The mind has a way of taking what the ear gate or eye gate has entertained and will magnify it in explosive ways, till it will take you on the ride of your life. You literally will have to pump the brakes on the vehicle of your mind because if you don't, you will lose control of your mind. So, God gives you and I the responsibility to guard our minds by carefully screening and filtering what we allow to enter our minds by what our ears and eyes entertain. While in prayer one day, the Spirit of God began to pray through me, and I heard myself praying, Let Your GRACE grow in my soul. As I continued praying, I heard the Holy Spirit praying through me, saying, Help me to manage my soul well. After prayer, I was intrigued by what I heard the Holy Spirit praying through me. Let me stop here to say it is always imperative that we allow the Holy Spirit to pray through us because He knows the perfect prayer to pray. Our minds and words can only go so far before we are left searching for what to say next. That is why when we relinquish our mouth and mind over to God, His Spirit will pray through us, for us.
As I was saying, I was intrigued by what the Spirit of God was praying through me. I began to ask the Lord what are you saying. He said to me, "Your weaknesses are managed by your soul, and the ONLY way to manage your soul is if you walk and live in The Spirit." Galatians 5:16 say This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. The dictionary defines weaknesses as character traits or skills considered negative or underdeveloped. In other words it is the state or condition of lacking strength."Blog reader, I want to tell you that weaknesses and negative character traits are not limited to sexual sins. I know many traditional or self-righteous believers tend to jump to that conclusion immediately. As they say let me say this for those in BACK. If you are a gossiper, a liar, or quick with your mouth, you need to do better at managing your soul. If you operate in envy, jealousy, fits of rage, and selfishness, you need to do better at managing your soul. If you carry hatred and unforgiveness in your heart, you need to do a better job of managing your soul. The bottom line is ALL OF GOD'S CHILDREN HAS ISSUES AND WEAKNESSES.
That is why we all MUST Let the Grace of God Grow In Our Soul.
"The Spirit of The Lord told me: 'My GRACE EMPOWERS you to manage your soulish nature.' As 2 Cor 12:9 says, His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
In other words, God's GRACE is active power that enables you and me to overcome our soulish nature, conquer temptation, and remain steadfast in the face of adversity."
Allowing the GRACE of God to grow in your soul means allowing His strength to come alive in you. It means you open yourself to allow Him to expand Himself within you. The only way this happens is by inhaling His word, inhaling His presence through prayer, and by bathing yourself in His presence in worship. We all must resolve at some point that we want the GRACE of God to grow in our souls so that we can manage our souls well. This is the reason that I started this blog by saying God has given us a huge responsibility, and that responsibility is to guard our mind, ear gate, and eye gate. The mind is to be guarded because the mind is satan's battleground. He gains access to the mind through what you hear and see, which results in the desires and behavior of the soul. Your intake dictates your output, which is why we have to monitor what we allow into the soul. Remember now Romans 7:18 (God's Word Translation) says I know that nothing good lives in me; that is, nothing good lives in my corrupt nature. Although I have the desire to do what is right, I don't do it. Now, here is why we have to watch what our ears and eyes are exposed to: it will either feed our sinful nature or correct it. Apostle Paul said, "Nothing good dwelleth in this flesh of mine." Nothing of purity dwells in this corrupt soul. He said I have the desire to do what is right, but I can't carry it out because when I would do good, evil is present with me.
To you, the reader, I want to tell you: The only way we can carry out the good thing is to let the GRACE of God grow in our souls. Therefore, watch what you feed your soul through the ear and eye gate because every weakness will only worsen since there is nothing good in this flesh. What is the soul? The soul is your mind, your will, and your emotions. The object of the enemy is to sit back and watch our souls dictate our actions and behavior. Whether you are a believer or an unbeliever, we all have to command our souls to adhere to what leads in the right direction. The Psalmist David said in Psalm103:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name. This verse isn't a question or an option for David. He is commanding his soul to bless God. We can only command our soul as we feed it in a healthy way.
As I close this blog post, I want to share with you a scripture that has been life-changing for me. Romans 8:5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. This verse validates the truth of the statement that your weaknesses are managed by your soul. Again, your soul is your mind, your will, and your emotions. What your mind entertains the most is what your soul (will and emotions) will respond to. The GRACE of God grows in your soul only if you are willing to feed your spirit through your mind, eye, and ear gate. I will say again, your intake will dictate the movement, the actions, and the response in your soul.
Six Points:
1. Watch what you sow into the soil of your soul.
2. Don't be afraid to remove unhealthy branches from your soul's tree.
3. Access to God's GRACE will produce growth in any area to which it is granted.
4. Guard your gates at all times.
5. Your weaknesses are managed by your soul, so manage your soul well.
6. Command your soul to be well.
